“Our mission is to help our patients live a pain free, healthy and balanced life.”

Our approach

We apply a holistic approach tailored to your needs, combining physiotherapy methods, exercises and patient education to address the root cause of your problems, reduce pain, restore function and reduce compensatory mechanisms, and achieve sustainable long-term health outcomes.

What we treat

Chronic conditions

Chronic degenerative disorders affecting your bones, joints and soft tissues can cause significant pain and dysfunction, limiting your body’s normal mobility and making its overall functioning difficult. We provide treatments tailored to our patients’ individual needs to prevent further progression of their condition, alleviate pain and improve physical function, thereby improving quality of life and reducing the need for future surgical intervention and long-term medication.

Accidental injuries

Acute injuries can happen to anyone as a result of trauma, and many of these injuries can be managed and treated by physiotherapy. We can not only reduce inflammation and pain, but also facilitate a quicker recovery, and in many cases we can restore full function eliminating the need for surgical intervention. We specialise in the treatment of both patients with everyday accidental injuries as well as patients with sports injuries, many of whom are usually referred to us by physicians.

Pre/post-surgery

Physiotherapy before and after surgery accelerates recovery, enhances functional outcomes and helps you return to your normal daily activities quicker. Targeted pre-surgery therapies prepare the body for surgery and reduces the risk of post-operative complications. Post-surgery physiotherapy, on the other hand, promotes healing by restoring the body’s normal function including strength, mobility and balance, prevents complications and improves your overall long-term recovery.

Injury prevention

Long-term musculoskeletal health and a more resilient body enables our clients maintain a sustainable active lifestyle, perform daily activities safely and avoid injuries. Our preventative strategies can help you enhance your physical fitness and correct dysfunctional movement patterns. Our holistic approach focuses on correcting muscle weaknesses and muscle imbalances, stabilizing joints, improving your flexibility and mobility, and enhancing your balance and coordination.

Work-related MSK disorders

We have been seeing an increasing number of patients seeking help with work-related MSK problems. Whether your job requires you to perform repetitive movements, heavy lifting or high impact movements, or spend prolonged time in a static position,  targeted treatment and exercising can help you relieve pain, promote healing, restore and improve function. As part of the treatment process, we cannot emphasize enough the importance of patient education on body mechanics, to reduce physical strain on your body and prevent the (re)occurrence of overuse injuries and accidents.

Sports injuries

Sports injuries often require a more dynamic and performance oriented treatment, involving a more intensive sports specific approach to ensure timely, safe and efficient return to peak performance, addressing the athletes’ immediate injury and its long-term impact on performance. Our clinic provides comprehensive and carefully targeted rehabilitation to our patients, often applying techniques and exercises tailored to the specific movements and demands of their sport to help our patients regain not only general function but also the specilalised skills needed for their sport.

Foot biomechanics

Biomechanical problems of the foot can significantly alter normal movement patterns and loading. The feet serve as the foundation for the entire body, and any foot dysfunction or misalignment can lead to a chain reaction of stress and compensatory mechanisms throughout the entire body. Our treatment and custom-made orthotics can help you strengthen your foot muscles to support proper foot biomechanics, improve movement patterns, gait, load distribution and posture, resulting in better overall musculoskeletal health and function.

Fit mums

The postpartum period often poses a range of physical challenges to new mothers, including pelvic floor muscle weakness, core problems, abdominal muscle integrity issues, postural problems and back pain. Our targeted, personalised care, in most cases in the form of gentle exercising promotes healing, restores function and prepares your body for the physical demands of caring for a newborn child. Safe and gradual return to exercising with the help of a physiotherapist can significantly enhance overall recovery and help regain confidence in your body.

Get started with Forma & Funkcja

Our story

Welcome to the new website of Forma & Funkcja Fizjoterapia. Our clinic was established in 2023 when we moved from London to Warsaw. After many months of careful planning and dedicated work, our Pruszkow clinic opened its door to new patients in September 2024. Housed in a beautiful 110 year old building, our practice has been thoughtfully adapted to meet our unique needs while preserving the building’s timeless charm.

In establishing Forma & Funkcja, our vision has always been to create a truly patient-centred, results-driven physiotherapy service. Our clinic provides a safe, professional, friendly and private environment equipped with industry-leading technology, where you can feel comfortable and cared for during your treatment. Our goal is to deliver tangible progress and a transformative patient experience, empowering our local community to live pain-free, healthier and happier lives - this is what inspires and drives us every day at Forma & Funkcja.

The opening of our Pruszkow location also marks a new chapter for us, as we bring two of our businesses, Forma & Funkcja Fizjoterapia and The Balance Cycling Clinic together under one roof.

For us, Forma & Funkcja is not an end goal but a milestone in our ongoing journey. As a private healthcare business, we are deeply committed to continuous improvement to ensure we offer the most effective treatment methods, that enhance rehabilitation outcomes and shorten recovery times. At Forma & Funkcja, we are dedicated to advancing care that truly makes a difference in the lives of our patients.

We are excited to share this space with you and look forward to continuing to serve you in an environment designed with your well-being in mind.

Thank you for being part of our journey!

Kasia & Pete

Kasia Szulawska, physiotherapist

I’m a physiotherapist with 15 years of clinical experience in Warsaw and London. I graduated from Akademia Wychowania Fizycznego (AWF) Warszawa with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Physiotherapy. Over the years, I worked at various private physiotherapy clinics in London and Warsaw, before relocating to Poland and starting Forma & Funkcja.

Since the very beginning, my key practice areas have been orthopaedics and sports injuries. Working alongside prominent orthopaedic surgeons in London, I also developed specialist expertise in post-surgery rehabilitation. I have experience in successfully treating both chronic conditions and acute trauma, helping patients reduce pain and regain function. Out of all the conditions that I treat on a daily basis, I have a keen interest in treating post-surgery and non-surgical hip and lower limb conditions.

I have qualifications and years of experience in applying neurodevelopmental rehabilitation methods, manual therapy techniques, manipulation and soft tissue mobilization techniques, acupuncture, as well as fitness and exercise systems. Our clinic is equipped with therapeutic devices including shockwave, electrotherapy and ultrasound machines, which I am also trained to use safely and effectively.

I am a strong advocate of educating patients about their condition and actively involve patients in their rehabilitation, maximising the effectiveness of their treatment, and enabling patients to make informed decisions regarding their health goals, treatment options, and continued well-being. Every patient is unique and so is every treatment plan, that I carefully tailor to each patient, taking into account not only their diagnoses and desired outcomes but also their personal circumstances and individual lifestyle.

I look forward to welcoming you to Forma & Funkcja. Please contact us with confidence and we will be happy to assist you in scheduling an appointment.

Booking information

Appointments for new patients

Please contact us via email or phone to request an appointment for a new patient. Each initial appointment is booked through the telephone after a brief triage conversation that helps us understand your condition and requirements, and we can provide you with any important information regarding the suitability of our treatment options and your first appointment. We encourage all future patients to discuss any questions or concerns that you may have regarding their first appointment during our telephone call. Please note, our clinic does not service new “walk-in” patients and does not take any appointment bookings for new patients in-person.

How to prepare for your first appointment

Before you attend your appointment, it is helpful to think about the questions you want to ask, what is most important to you and what you would like to get out of your physiotherapy treatment. It might help to prepare a list of your questions before your appointment.

Please ensure all documentation relevant to your condition is available for us to review at the time of your appointment, including doctor’s letters, referrals and imaging results. Some digital documentation, for example, X-ray and MRI scan results, may require some time to access and process, therefore please share these documents with us before your appointment, to ensure that we will be able to access to these results during your appointment.

What clothing to wear for your appointment

Your comfort is our priority. It is recommended to wear loose and comfortable clothing that does not restrict your movement, as we may ask you to move or remove some of your clothing so that we can easily access the area concerned. For example, if you are attending for a problem with your legs, we recommend to bring a pair of shorts. You will be able to change your clothing privately in the treatment room at the time of your appointment. Our treatment room provides complete privacy from other patients and treatment areas of our clinic. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns regarding your clothing.

If you require any assistance

Please let us know at the time of your booking if you require any special assistance. We understand that approaching our building is not always easy for patients with limited mobility, and we will happily assist you to our entrance from the nearby parking spaces, drop off spots or public transport stops.

What happens after your first appointment

After our initial assessment, we will explain the available treatment options for your condition and prepare a personalised treatment plan for you based on your individual needs and preferences. You will have the opportunity to book your follow up appointment at the end of your first appointment. We operate a busy schedule therefore we recommend to secure your next appointment as soon as you are able to, to ensure that your physiotherapy treatment continues effectively.

What to expect between appointments

Effective physiotherapy treatment is a collaborative effort between yourself and your therapist and requires cooperation, preparation and communication from patients. Some of our treatment methods require very little active contribution from our patients outside of their appointments, however, many conditions do require patients to perform some level of regular exercising between appointments as prescribed. Trust the process and results will follow.

Bringing someone to your appointment to support you

If you require support, it can be helpful to bring someone with you to your appointment who can provide you physical assistance, make you feel more comfortable, or help you communicate, for example, a close family member or friend. Please ensure you are comfortable with discussing your condition in the presence of the person accompanying you.

Bringing your child to your appointment

We understand that parents often do not have other childcare options available at the time of their appointment. You can bring your baby or child to your appointment with you. Minors under 18 years of age cannot be left unsupervised in the waiting area and will have to join you in the treatment room. Please take into consideration that you will be fully responsible for your child during your appointment.

Cancellation and re-scheduling

If you wish to cancel or re-schedule your appointment, you must let us know 48 hours before your appointment is due to take place. Unfortunately, if you late cancel or do not attend two appointments, we may not be able to provide further appointments for you.

What form of identification will be required

We do not require any proof of identification at the time of your appointment, but we will ask you to provide your basic personal details for administrative purposes. If you require us to issue any referral or a written statement of your condition, we will require a valid photo I.D.

Accepted payment methods

We accept cash, debit card and BLIK payments. Please let us know at the time of your booking if you wish to pay through bank transfer.
